Chronic pain is a complex medical condition that can be difficult to diagnose and equally challenging to treat. Because each person's pain is unique with different underlying causes, effective communication is crucial to achieving proper pain management. Yet many patients and their healthcare professionals encounter barriers that interfere with open and honest dialogue. Difficulty finding the right words to describe pain and limited time during medical appointments are just two of the barriers facing many chronic pain sufferers.
As an advocate to help educate people who are experiencing chronic pain, Partners Against Pain® is presenting A Hands On Approach for Pain Management. The goal of the program is to enable those living with chronic pain and healthcare professionals to better communicate with each other.
